Hello folks every Saturday I try to bring you a new author to meet and today we have author LD Wosar with us. As always I look forward to the interview. Let’s begin this shindig! LD welcome to Lexxable Reads.
What inspired you to start writing? *
I’ve been writing since I was a kid and it’s essentially been like that for as long as I’ve lived.
When did you decide that you wanted to publish your first story? *
It wasn’t until recently when I learned more about indie publishing.
Describe your writing space. *
It’s a small desk on a laptop, in my zen bedroom, with my vinyls playing.
How do you do research for your books? *
If the story calls for it and since I write in a historical sense, I need to make sure what I’m writing fits with the time.
What motivates you to keep writing? *
I always have ideas swimming in my head, so daydreaming motivates me.
Writing can be emotionally draining and sometimes stressful- particularly when stepping into the publishing realm of things. Any tips to share for the aspiring writers out there? *
You have a whole team of authors in the same boat. Build up your betas, editor, make sure the book is formatted. And marketing is key…everyone has different marketing techniques and they are happy to share.
Tell me about the books you write.*
I write heroines who are strong, intelligent, and bad ass. I write more about female empowerment, romance is a subplot to me. Every heroine I write is different, their missions are different, but the powerful trait always remains.
How many books have you written so far? Are you in any anthologies? Which book has been your favorite to write? If you have a one that is. 🙂 *
I’ve written 6. I am involved in one anthology currently set for release in October. My favorites have been without a doubt my Capot series.
Do you have a favorite character that you have written? Why are they your favorite? Are they the main character? Tell us about them. *
Stevie Capot- she is a sweet-natured person who has a bit of a rebellious side to her. Writing her dialogue in the last two is fun because not only is she unpredictable, she’s Scottish.
Tell us about your latest writing project *
Currently I am working on cleaning up my first published book, but also writing the 3rd book in the Capot series, as well as my only standalone novel tbr in December.
Let’s get to know a bit more about you. What do you like to do when you are not writing? *
I work full time as a Risk Manager for the gaming industry. I binge watch a lot of tv and I love naps.
If you had to describe yourself in three words, what would they be? *
Humorous, Indecisive and Warm.
If it were possible to have your favorite season all year long what season would it be? *
Why did you choose that particular season? *
I live in Vegas and summer is too hot. I love the changes of the foliage and the way the air feels in autumn, almost a crisp in the air but not frigid.
What songs/ music are on your playlist? *A lot of Grimes, Gorillaz, Oasis, Garbage.
What is your favorite food? *Anything chocolate and chips & salsa
Who is your favorite author and why? *
James Patterson- crime is one of my favorite genres to read and he is a freaking God.
What are you reading right now? *The Broken Daughter by Aimee Shaye.
What is one thing your readers don’t know about you? *
At first…that I was female. I am a proud grandma with tats and a piercing and I am the cookie master.
Where can readers find out more about you and your books? *
Thank you for joining me on my blog today. Is there anything else you’d like to say before we head on out?
*I think I’ve covered everything. Thanks for having me.
And thank you LD for being here. Here’s hoping everyone has a great Saturday. Stay well travelers.
