June, July, August and a bit of September.

It has been a whirlwind since June! I gave birth to my sweet baby boy Alaric who had to be delivered at 37 weeks due to preeclampsia, couple that with newborn life and postpartum healing during July I’ve been off the radar for a while! I’m back to the grind of reading and writing. Gathering an extensive list of books to be read. Still including books on the writing craft and working on my fantasy novel and a few short stories.

I’ve come to the conclusion that this novel needs to be worked on slowly, with a certain amount of precision. It’s high fantasy so I’m going back and making sure my concepts of magic, etc match up later on, of course this also helps me to take those and morph them into something more or tweak as needed I’m creating a separate world from ours and the details matter.

August went quickly for our family, I decided to send my homeschooler to public school and she is doing well, another big adjustment for us. Now September has arrived and I am hoping to blog daily or as often as I can spare.

Reading and writing are also top priority along with caring for my family. I do have an event coming up that I’ll suggest to all you writers out there SavvyWriterCon presented by Savvy Authors this month, free writing workshops to hone in on your craft and connecting to other writers. Should be a lot of fun.

What have you all been up to?
